2020 Fall ONLY Sports Registration Information (REV 7/31/20)
Currently, boys golf, softball and boys tennis have been given approval to begin play this fall. CHSAA is anticipating a decision from the Governor's office COVID-19 Response Team by the end of the week - July 31 - for the remaining sports (cheerleading, cross country, football, poms, boys soccer and volleyball).
The "tentative" plan in place is to hold fall only sports registration next week from August 3 - 6 as we are hopeful all sports will be approved to play. However, if this is not the case and a specific sport(s) is canceled or delayed, athletes in those canceled sports will not register next week. Only those athletes playing in sports that have been given approval to play this fall will register. Please refer to athletics website windsorwizards.org - Announcements for the most updated information regarding any changes to the registration process.
With this being said, and in an effort to accommodate Covid-19 safety and health requirements and protocols, all athletes must sign up for an appointment to turn in their registration items after completing the online requirements (sign up links are on the registration page on the athletics website). As a reminder, all WHS sports registration information, instructions and links can be found on the WHS Athletics Website at windsorwizards.org and by clicking on the Fall Sports Registration tab on the menu.
Athletes that will be registering next week and arriving for their appointment (remember to sign up using the link on the registration page) must have all online items completed and all forms completed and signed. PLEASE NOTE: A new form required by CHSAA was added to the list ( CHSAA Competitor Brochure / Covid-19 Risk form) on Wednesday, 7/29, so if you completed your forms prior to that date, you will need to go back to the registration page to print off the form and sign it. Registrations that are not complete will not be accepted at that time. Please read and follow all instructions on the registration page of the athletics website very carefully as there are some new and additional requirements from CHSAA that are now part of the registration process. All athletes should be prepared to submit the following at the time of the appointment they signed up for:
1. Complete online registration (complete once per every school year)
2. Create ONE-TIME CHSAA Planet High School "ATHLETE" Account - ONLY Freshmen and athletes that have never played a sport at Windsor High School must create a one-time "ATHLETE" on CHSAA's planeths.com digital platform. This account must be created for the purpose of reporting athletic eligibility.
3. Submit the following items:
a. Signed "parent/athlete signature form" from the confirmation emailed to you following completion of the online form. Please only submit the signature page, not the entire form.
b. Signed "CHSAA Competitor Brochure / Covid-19 Risk" form. Please only submit the signature page, not the entire brochure/form. NEW - JUST ADDED BY CHSAA on 7/29/20.
c. Updated physical form signed by a physician
d. Payment of sports fee: $150 per sport ($200 football) for in-district student-athletes. $225 per sport ($300 football) for out-of-district student-athletes. No fees for team managers, cheerleading and poms). There are no multi-family or multi-sport discounts. UPDATED SPORTS FEES
4. Transfer and International students - please call Sandee Legino at (970)686-8104 for guidance on completing CHSAA's online transfer form
5. Sign up for your appointment to submit registration items (specific sports sign up links are provided on registration page).
