The Windsor boys' golf team played both the role of host and spoiler during their 24-team, all-class invitational held at their home course at Pelican Lakes Resort & Golf. Windsor's 4-over score of 220 was seven strokes better than second place Pueblo West. Windsor junior Brentyn Paiz won the event with a 71, his second-straight under par round. Windsor senior Alex Tanner carded a 2-over 74 to place in a tie for third. Windsor sophomore Carter Hinkle, who was playing in his first event since breaking his collarbone three weeks ago, placed sixth with a 3-over 75. Sophomore Landon Ball tied for ninth with a 77 and senior Andrew Scoggin's 90 tied for 50th. Also playing in the event for Windsor were seven junior varsity members. Leading the way was senior, and the WHS quarterback, Jake Coakley with a career-best 82. Following Coakley was senior Carter Daigle (86), freshman Ethan Tippets (92), sophomore Burley Kleve (95), freshman Connor Kosola (96), sophomore Jack Gustafson (96) and senior Gage Robinson (97).
