The Windsor High School boys' golf team's recent dominance hit a slight snag today during its 23-team invitational held at Pelican Lakes. With five of the top six teams in Class 4A in the field, as well as three high-ranked Class 3A teams, Windsor finished third with a three-person score of 230 (14-over). The sixth-ranked team in Class 4A, Pueblo West, won the event with a score of 225 (9-over), followed by Class 4A fourth-ranked Riverdale Ridge at 226 (10-over). All four Wizards finished among the top 20 out of 90 players with junior Carter Hinkle (second from right) pacing the way with a 75 (3-over) to tie for 8th. Senior Brentyn Paiz (second from left) tied for 12th with a score of 77 (5-over), freshman Kellen Ball (right) tied for 15th with a 78 and junior Landon Ball (left) tied for 20th with an 80 (8-over). Three players tied for medalist at 1-under 71 and they were Jake Chesler from Frederick and a pair of Pueblo West golfers, Noah Wagner and Preston Allen. It was a great competitive test for all the players in the field.
