Boys All Levels Golf
|Windsor High School||312|
|Centaurus HS - League (V5/JV4)||301|
We are the champions! The Windsor High School boys' golf team, which makes its home at Pelican Lakes, wrapped up the Northern Colorado Athletic Conference championship today with a third-place showing at the Centaurus event held at Indian Peaks Golf Course. Despite finishing third today, Windsor had enough of a lead (35 less strokes than Silver Creek) over its conference foes to capture its third-straight league title. Windsor's combined score of 312 today was 11 strokes behind first place Silver Creek. Windsor junior Carter Hinkle (second from right) finished in sixth place with a 75 (3-over), followed by freshman Kellen Ball's (left) ninth place 77 (5-over), senior Brentyn Paiz's (third from left) 12th place 79 (7-over), junior Landon Ball's (second from left) 15th place 81 (9-over) and freshman Dillon Calkins' (right) 21st place 84 (12-over). Hinkle, Paiz and the Ball brothers were named to the All-Conference First Team, which is believed to be the first time in school history that four players finished among the top 8 in conference. The top four players have participated in 10 events thus far, and their scoring averages are as follows: Carter Hinkle (75.70), Landon Ball (75.90), Brentyn Paiz (76.70) & Kellen Ball (77.10). The next big test for the team is the Sept. 21 Class 4A Region 3 event held at Highland Hills Golf Course in Greeley. Congratulations on another conference championship, Wizards!
