Boys All Levels Golf vs. Windsor League

Game Date
Sep 16, 2020

Windsor is Title Town!

Congratulations to the Windsor High School boys' golf team, who calls Pelican Lakes its home course, for winning yet another event today. The Wizards won the Windsor League Match held at Pelican Lakes, which clinched the Northern League championship. Windsor won four of the six league events in 2020 and finished second (tied for first in both and lost a scorecard playoff to finish second) in the other two matches. Today Windsor's four-person team score of 26-over par bettered the nine other schools in the field with Silver Creek coming in second with a score of 45-over. Leading the way for the Wizards was sophomore Carter Hinkle's third place finish of 77 (5-over) as he finished all five of his regular season tournaments with scores in the 70s. Next on the team was junior Brentyn Paiz's fourth place showing of 78 (6-over). Paiz finished 2020 as the individual Northern League champion with a league scoring average of 74.5. Sophomore Landon Ball placed fifth with a 79 (7-over), senior Alex Tanner tied for sixth with an 80 (8-over) and sophomore Burley Kleve rounded out the varsity scoring with a 93 (21-over). Today was also the final time five seniors played in a regular season tournament. Pictured below from the left is Gage Robinson (94 in the JV tournament), Jake Coakley (96 in the JV tournament), head coach Kenny Anderson, Andrew Scoggin (88 in the JV tournament), Alex Tanner and assistant coach Ryan Lococo. Not pictured is Carter Daigle. The others playing in the JV event were sophomore Connor Kosola (85), junior Carson Brown (93), sophomore Jack Gustafson (95) and freshman Ethan Tippets (100). The Wizards now set their sights on Tuesday's Class 4A Region 3 tournament held at Quail Dunes Golf Course in Fort Morgan. The top two teams and the top 13 individual players will qualify for the Oct. 5-6 Class 4A state tournament. Stay hungry Wizards, and play well on Tuesday!
